9.15.2012 ~ Backyard Beauty

 *Wedding by Kirsten*

Sarah and Ben were married on September 15th, 2012 at Ben’s parents’ home in Harrisburg, Oregon. It was incredible how Ben’s family opened up their property to hundreds of guests, that’s right hundreds! Family and friends from near and far gathered to celebrate Sarah and Ben’s love for each other and party!

This private residence seems like it was meant to be the backdrop to Sarah and Ben’s wedding. There was a beautiful grassy area where Sarah awed the guests and Ben as she walked down the aisle lined with lavender white hydrangeas provided by the lovely ladies of Celebration Florals. The great willow tree was the perfect canopy for the dance floor where the bridal party and guests danced the night away. The remote location set the perfect mood for an evening of love and laughter.

After the ceremony, guests started the fiesta off with a delicious Mexican buffet catered by Bombs Away Café from Corvallis, while DJ Ben Christensen kept the party going with his selection of music.

The newlyweds came out in typical Ben and Sarah fashion to the “I’m shipping up to Boston” by the Dropkick Murphy’s, which set the tone of the rest of the evening: dancing and fun!

The naturally beautiful bride got her makeup and hair done at 9th Street Salon in Corvallis by Laura and Peggy.

Both Ben and Sarah really thought about every little detail. Ben even got matching socks for his soon to be father and brother in law. Sarah created an amazing “DIY” wedding with homemade truffles and tree seedlings as favors for the wedding guests. The cupcakes from Market of Choice and the Divine Cupcake were charmingly displayed on homemade stands from wood which matched the candle centerpieces on the tables as well.  Plus, they even had a photobooth from Smile Photo Booth for the guests to enjoy too!

I am so honored to be a part of Sarah and Ben’s special day. They are so down to earth and such an easy going couple. Their main concern for the day was that everyone had fun and enjoyed the company. I’d say they accomplished this, as it was made very clear from the pictures Kacy Kizer and Jay Eads captured throughout the day of guests smiling and laughing!
